“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”
It is easy for us to wait for the “important moments.”
A significant opportunity.
A life-changing decision.
A stage where we can finally prove our worth.
Because of this, many people focus their attention
on the things that appear bigger and more meaningful.
Yet what God often values most
are the things that seem small and unnoticed.
The choices we make each day.
The responsibilities that repeat day after day.
The ordinary moments without applause or excitement.
Spiritual maturity rarely appears
in a single dramatic moment.
More often, it grows slowly
through many small acts of faithfulness.
A person’s love for God
is not only seen in public worship,
but formed in the quiet days no one notices.
When no one is watching,
do you still choose honesty?
When a task seems small,
are you still willing to do it well?
When life feels ordinary,
do you still choose to walk with God?
God often places the weight of life
inside things that appear light.
Those small daily acts of faithfulness
are quietly laying the foundation
for greater trust in the future.
So do not underestimate today.
Perhaps there is no great breakthrough.
No dramatic change.
Maybe today looks very similar to yesterday.
But when you remain faithful in the ordinary,
God is building something in you
that you cannot yet see.
Prayer
Lord,
so often I desire to do great things
while overlooking the small things before me.
Give me a faithful heart,
so that even when no one notices,
I will still choose what is right.
Help me walk with You
in the ordinary rhythm of life.
Let me trust that
You are shaping my life
through these seemingly small moments.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
• Do I only take “important things” seriously?
• What small responsibility has God placed before me today?
Today’s Practice
Choose one ordinary task today—
at work, at home, or in a simple commitment.
Do it carefully and faithfully.
Then quietly say to God:
“Lord, I choose to be faithful in small things.”
