“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.”

When a person keeps going for a long time,

they grow tired.

Not always a sudden collapse,

but a slow, quiet draining.

Responsibilities, repetition, pressure, emotions—

they gradually wear you down in ways that are hard to explain.

Sometimes you are still doing what you need to do,

but inwardly, the strength is no longer there.

This kind of fatigue runs deeper than busyness.

Our instinct is to respond by pushing harder—

telling ourselves to endure a little more,

to try a little harder,

to hold on just a bit longer.

But in the spiritual life,

true renewal rarely comes from greater effort.

Isaiah makes it clear:

strength is given by God.

This means something important—

you do not need to recover first

before coming to Him.

In fact,

it is precisely in your weariness

that strength begins to return.

We often treat prayer

as something we do when we feel strong,

yet it was always meant

for moments of weakness.

God does not wait for you to regain strength before receiving you.

He meets you

when you have none left.

Today, you may not feel completely overwhelmed,

but you know you are tired.

You do not need to fix everything first.

You do not need to force yourself to “pull it together.”

Just come before God,

even with a simple sentence:

“Lord, I am tired.”

That is enough.

Prayer

Lord,

You see the weariness within me.

Some of it I cannot explain,

and some I have not even fully recognized myself.

I choose not to push through on my own strength,

but to come before You.

Give me strength,

and sustain me in my weakness.

Let me be renewed in You.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Reflection

• Have I been feeling tired recently?

• Am I trying to push through on my own, or am I willing to come to God?

Today’s Practice

Find a quiet moment today.

You do not need a long prayer.

Simply say honestly:

“Lord, I am tired. I need You.”

Then remain there for a moment.

Let God become the beginning of your renewal.
