“All things are possible for one who believes.”
Being still and waiting does not mean stopping action.
Many think that “surrender” and “rest” mean giving up effort
or simply waiting quietly for a miracle to happen.
But Scripture reminds us that faith and action go hand in hand.
Faith is not passive; it is an active choice:
to take the next step even when we cannot see the whole path or control the outcome.
Often, we hesitate because of fear—fear of failure, of the unknown, or of being unprepared.
Our hearts may be calm,
but our hands and feet remain bound.
God’s promises are not a call to inaction,
but a call to act in trust.
Every small step
is an expression of faith.
Faith in action does not need to be extraordinary.
It can be simple:
speaking a kind word to someone,
finishing a task we have been postponing,
or courageously bringing our weakness before God.
When we act in faith,
fear and anxiety gradually recede.
Every step we take
is not by our own strength,
but by trusting God as we move forward.
Today, choose one small thing—
even if it seems minor—
and take a step of faith.
God values not the size of the result,
but whether we act in faith.
Prayer
Lord,
I often hesitate because of fear or anxiety.
Even when my heart is calm, I am afraid to move.
Help me to take each step in faith,
relying on You with every small action.
Let my actions reflect my trust in You,
and not be bound by fear.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
• Have I been held back recently by fear or anxiety?
• What small step can I take today in faith?
Today’s Practice
Choose one small action today.
Even if you are unsure of the outcome, take it boldly.
Quietly say:
“Lord, I trust You as I take this step.”
Let faith guide your actions, not fear.
