“But Jesus answered them, ‘My Father is working until now, and I am working.’”
There is a kind of moment
that unsettles us the most—
not when we have not begun,
and not when everything has clearly failed,
but when we keep going
and see nothing happening.
You are giving,
persisting,
praying,
waiting.
Yet the situation does not seem to change.
People do not respond.
There is no visible progress.
This “invisible” stage
is deeply draining.
Because we are used to relying on what we can see:
we see change, then we gain confidence;
we see results, then we find motivation.
But Jesus says:
“My Father is working until now.”
The emphasis is not only that He works,
but that He is still working.
Even when you cannot see it,
God has not stopped.
Often, His work does not first appear on the surface.
It happens quietly,
in hidden places.
Like a seed beneath the soil,
like roots growing underground—
life is already unfolding
where you cannot see.
If everything had to be visible to you,
it would no longer be a life of faith.
Today, you may be in a season
where nothing seems to be changing.
Do not rush to dismiss it.
Do not assume God is absent.
He has not stopped.
The places you cannot see
are often where He is working the most.
Prayer
Lord,
when I see no change,
my heart easily grows weary and doubtful.
Help me to trust that
even when I cannot see it,
You are still at work.
Teach me not to depend on what is visible,
but to continue trusting You in the hidden places.
Give me a steady heart
that believes, even in silence.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
• Have I been discouraged because I cannot see progress?
• Do I believe God is working in ways I cannot see?
Today’s Practice
When you feel like “nothing is happening” today,
quietly say:
“Lord, I believe You are still working.”
Even without feeling it,
let that trust
remain within you.
