“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
When we are surrounded by anxiety,
our attention easily shifts to what is lacking or unfinished.
We notice unresolved problems,
focus on outcomes that fall short of expectations,
and often overlook the grace that is already present in our lives.
Yet gratitude is not something reserved for moments when everything goes well.
Scripture calls us to give thanks in all circumstances.
This does not mean we celebrate difficulties themselves,
but that in every situation we continue to trust
in God’s presence and guidance.
Gratitude is a spiritual perspective.
It shifts our focus
from what is missing
to what has been graciously given.
As we begin to count God’s blessings,
our hearts are no longer dominated by anxiety,
but are gradually filled with peace and contentment.
Often, our circumstances do not change immediately,
but gratitude transforms the way we see them.
It reminds us that God has already been at work in our lives
and continues to be.
Today, you may still face challenges,
but there are certainly things worth giving thanks for—
a timely act of help,
a word of encouragement,
or simply the gift of an ordinary yet peaceful day.
As you begin to notice these moments of grace,
you will discover that God’s presence has never been far away.
Prayer
Lord,
when I am surrounded by anxiety,
I often overlook the grace You have already given.
Grant me a grateful heart,
so that I may recognize Your work in every circumstance.
Help me shift my perspective
from what is lacking
to the abundance of Your grace.
May my heart be filled with peace and joy
as I respond with thanksgiving.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
Reflection
• What are three things I can thank God for today?
• Am I willing to choose gratitude even in difficult circumstances?
Today’s Practice
Take a few moments today to write down three things you are thankful for,
no matter how small they may seem.
Quietly say to God:
“Lord, thank You for always being with me.”
Let gratitude
become the lens through which you view your life.
